AmeriCorps NCCC and the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program
Collaboration Purpose
Americorp's NCCC program has formed collaborations with other youth-serving organizations to increase the number of disadvantaged youth serving in their program. Their first partnership was with the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe program.
This collaboration provides another avenue for success for ChalleNGe graduates, allowing the youth to build on their successes with transitional structure and support, and giving them a place to test and enhance their skills in a largely peer-led environment. NCCC benefits from the collaboration as the ChalleNGe graduates coming into their program bring a diversity of experiences which strengthen the team environment within NCCC.
