Best or Promising Practices
- With members’ roles in supporting the YCB, City Children’s Cabinet, and Youth Congress, the YBC serves as a natural connector to support alignment across systems.
- There is broad agreement on the importance of developmental practices — the science of development — across systems, including education, child welfare, juvenile justice, afterschool, parks/recreation, and others.
- The YCB represents the four primary decision-making and funding jurisdictions impacting Minneapolis. These members lend high-level official support for alignment, carefully shepherd resources, and ensure a commitment to the YCB’s mission. The strong staffing support in these areas has become an integral part of the broad support for systems change.
